Rest in Peace, Samsung Galaxy Note 7

The Korean Super-Giant, Samsung, has announced that it is ending the production of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 globally due to its defective and dangerous batteries.

Samsung, in a statement, said:

Taking our customer’s safety as our highest priority, we have decided to halt sales and production of Galaxy Note 7

The Note 7 was originally released in August and received thumbs-up from various critics worldwide. But by the end of month news of Note 7 catching fire started emerging. On 2nd September, Samsung began recalling the original device and started replacing them with new ones. The Company’s problems continued as news emerged that the replacement models too carry the same problem with five replacement models catching fire in the past week.

Samsung will ask all carriers and retail partners to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note 7

said the company yesterday.

Due to the damage caused by the Note 7 to the consumers and Company’s image, Samsung announced the discontinuation of the phone.

Galaxy Note 7 exploded

Should I buy/use the Galaxy Note 7?

The answer is a big no. All the Note 7s are prone to these major battery disorder.

I have a Galaxy Note 7, what should I do know?

As the problem is with the battery my advice is to switch off your phone and rush to the retailer or carrier from where you originally purchased your Note 7. Carriers have also stated that replacement Note 7s can be exchanged for another Samsung or Non-Samsung device.

What’s next for Samsung?

Reuters have estimated a $17 billion loss to the company causing a severe financial and reputational damage to the tech-giant. Had it been any other Smartphone company, it would have meant shut down of its mobile division. But it’s Samsung after all. It will recover very soon.

People are saying that Note 8 is gonna come out very soon to recover the damage done, but the truth is that it’s very early to say anything like that.
